Laura Freitag provides advice and representation to private and public sector employers in all areas of management-side labour and employment law. Laura has experience before multiple courts and tribunals in Ontario. She also has experience representing clients in confidential mediation and arbitration.
As part of Laura’s pro bono work, she has volunteered her time as duty counsel at Pro Bono Law Ontario and with Innocence Canada.
Prior to joining the firm, Laura practiced as a litigation associate in the Toronto office of a national, full-service law firm, with a particular emphasis on commercial, employment, constitutional and fraud matters.
EducationLaura received her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2015. During law school, Laura was selected to be a Dean’s Legal Research and Writing Fellow. She was a tutorial leader for Contract Law and Principles of Legal Research. Laura interned at St. Michael’s Hospital and worked as a research assistant in the area of robotics, algorithms and the law. Prior to law school, Laura graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature.
