James provides advice and representation to private and public sector employers in all areas of management-side labour and employment law.
James has a particular interest in Occupational Health and Safety, having spent two summers interning at the Ontario Ministry of Labour’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy Branch. James also served as a volunteer caseworker with Advocates for Injured Workers during law school, where he represented clients with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board claims.
James was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018 following his articles with the firm.
EducationJames obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2017. During law school, James was actively involved in U of T’s mooting program: during his second year, he represented U of T at both the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada and the Warren K. Winkler Class Actions Moot. At the Class Actions Moot, James’ team finished second, and James received the Third-Place Oralist prize. Before attending law school, James obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours, with Distinction) in History and Politics from Queen’s University.
