Maddie is an associate lawyer in the Toronto office. She completed summer and articling terms at the Firm before returning as an associate.
Maddie provides advice and representation to private and public sector employers in all areas of management-side labour and employment law.
Prior to starting her legal practice, Maddie interned at the St. John’s Board of Trade where she developed a keen understanding of employer concerns and their need for business-minded advocacy. Additionally, Maddie worked for a municipal heritage organization where she gained insight into the development of public policies and their impact on the wider community. This past experience informs the proactive and pragmatic approach Maddie takes in her current role as counsel.
During her time at Queen’s Law, Maddie was a Co-Senior Student Editor of the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal and a Teaching Assistant at the Smith School of Business. She also assisted with student support initiatives through the Queen’s Law Career Development Office, mentored incoming law students, and was Vice-President 3L of the Class of 2018 and an executive member of both the Queen’s Labour and Employment Law Club and the Queen’s University Chapter of LEVEL: Changing Lives through Law. She was awarded course prizes in Property Law and Trial Advocacy for highest academic standing.
