Clifton is a Senior Associate lawyer in the Firm’s Toronto office. He completed summer and articling terms with the Firm before returning as an associate.
Clifton’s education and work history informs his holistic, yet practical, approach to the practice of law. His understanding of the intersection between human rights and employment law allows him to guide employers through even the most challenging workplace issues. In addition to providing practical advice, Clifton is a staunch litigator and has represented employers at various levels of court, including before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and at various tribunals.
Fluent in both English and Cantonese, Clifton provides advice and representation to employers – of all sizes and across all sectors – on a full range of labour, employment, and human rights law matters.
Clifton received his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University Faculty of Law and has an undergraduate degree from York University with a double major in Sociology, and Human Rights and Equity Studies. Prior to law school, Clifton honed his legal skills as a licensed paralegal in a boutique employment law firm with a focus on employee-side litigation which provides him with keen insight into issues that employers may face.
When he is not practicing law, Clifton enjoys going to the gym, playing squash, and trying new food.
