Executive Summary
As a senior associate lawyer in the Firm's Toronto office, Mark provides strategic advice and representation in all areas of management-side labour and employment law in both the private and public sectors.
Mark routinely advises management in respect of grievance arbitrations, construction labour relations, occupational health and safety, collective bargaining, human rights, and privacy. Mark commits to finding pragmatic, efficient solutions when helping employers with issues related to hiring, disciplinary action, workplace investigations, and employment terminations. Mark regularly appears before courts and tribunals in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
During his time at Western Law, Mark was an executive with the Labour & Employment Law Society as well as an Associate Caseworker with London’s Community Legal Services. Mark also participated extensively in advocacy competitions, finishing as a finalist in a national moot where he competed against law schools across Canada, and where he also received an award for his written advocacy. Currently, Mark serves on the Board of Directors for University Settlement, which has the distinction of being the first community-based social service centre in the City of Toronto.
Mark completed summer and articling terms at the Firm before returning as an associate after his call to the bar.
