Executive Summary
Spencer practices in all areas of labour and employment law on behalf of employers in both the private and public sectors. He has been involved in collective bargaining, hiring and terminating employees, workplace investigations, drafting employment contracts and policies, and preparing for wrongful dismissal actions and arbitration hearings.
In addition, Spencer has developed an expertise advising private and public sector clients regarding their obligations under federal and provincial privacy and access to information statutes. He drafts various privacy instruments for clients, including privacy policies, privacy impact assessments, and privacy breach response protocols.
Spencer also assists clients in their responses to freedom of information requests and drafts responses to requesters’ appeals to provincial and federal information and privacy commissioners.
Prior to joining the Firm, Spencer worked as an associate lawyer at a leading management-side labour and employment law boutique in Ottawa.
