Bill 148 Update: Impact on the Employment Standards Act, 2000

In 2015, the Ontario Government retained two special advisors to carry out a review of employment and labour standards legislation. As part of their comprehensive review, the special advisors made 173 recommendations, including recommendations to amend the Employment Standards Act, 2000 in a number of key areas. Ontario's response to the review was the introduction of Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017. Bill 148, which passed second reading, is expected to become law.
Our seminar will review the major amendments to the ESA being proposed as part of Bill 148. In our seminar we will cover the following key areas.
